WARDOGS Early Access Review: A Three-Team Shooter Where Every Job Pays

WARDOGS puts three teams against a 100-point objective

BULKHEAD's WARDOGS combines Battlefield-scale battles, ArmA-style military simulation and Counter-Strike-inspired buying. Each match sends three teams toward a central control zone, with the first faction to earn 100 points from holding it taking the win. GamingBolt's coverage describes the battlefield as constantly shifting because a third faction can attack from another direction while two teams are already fighting.

The maps are enormous countryside spaces, although most combat concentrates around the control zone and nearby urban areas. Players can travel by vehicle or parachute into the fight, while the surrounding fields create longer approaches before battles tighten into close-quarters combat. That structure gives the match a slower military build-up before the control zone becomes a dense firefight.

$10,000 starts each life, but strong kits cost $4,000-$5,000

Every life begins with a buy phase and a personal bank balance of $10,000. That starting amount covers a rifle, ammunition and a basic revive kit, while a competent loadout later costs at least $4,000-$5,000 after the starter discount. Kills, assists, revives, transport, construction and time inside the control zone all generate more money.

The economy makes support work mechanically valuable rather than decorative. Drivers can ferry teammates to the front, builders can construct fortifications around a Forward Operating Base, medics can revive downed players, and long-range players can provide tactical support. Players can even offer cash bribes to medics for revives, creating races between medics and downed soldiers over who gets paid first.

Progression follows equipment instead of fixed classes

WARDOGS has no class system, according to the September 29, 2026 early access review. Progression and unlocks are tied to the weapons and items players use, so one life can contribute Assault experience through an assault rifle while defibrillation pads build Medic experience. The confirmed roles include driver, builder, medic and long-range tactical support, giving players several ways to serve the same 100-point objective.

A flexible choice for players who dislike one-lane shooters

WARDOGS is now in early access, and its strongest distinction is that two players in one match can pursue entirely different routines without abandoning the team goal. A player looking for constant firefights can push the zone, while another can earn money transporting allies or constructing defenses. That makes the game a better fit for squads that want different jobs in the same battle, but the cash system also means players who ignore combat still need to understand how their work affects the team's route to 100 points.
