SCUM hotfix 1.3.4.1.161318 targets aiming stutters after the October update

SCUM’s October 7, 2026 hotfix, version 1.3.4.1.161318, addresses problems reported after the game’s October update. The largest performance fix covers field-of-view changes, including aiming down sights, which could trigger noticeable stutters and frame rate drops. Read the latest SCUM server listings before choosing where to play tonight.

The patch also corrects two problems that could affect progression and movement on the Island. Abandoned Bunker timers and the number of active bunkers could return incorrectly after a server restart. Unfinished base-building blueprints could interrupt jumps and cause players to fall, while a single-player aeroplane issue could apply the handbrake automatically and prevent movement or take-off until it was released.

Fishing exploit is fixed, but backward movement can still break the line

The hotfix removes an exploit that let players skip much of the fishing minigame and catch fish faster than intended. It also fixes fishing reels that failed to read mouse-wheel input at higher frame rates, fishing accessories attached to rods without reels, casting lines passing through buildings, and prompts showing the default left mouse button instead of a player’s custom binding.

Several fishing equipment and recipe issues were corrected as well. The Corn Fish Bait recipe now accounts for the remaining uses of Canned Corn, fishing line descriptions were updated after the fishing rework, and Specialist Angler Pack lines now use the intended tolerance values. The patch also fixes misaligned lines and hand clipping on the Specialist Angler Rod and Reel.

A known fishing problem remains: pulling a fish ashore while walking backward can still break the line. The developers advise players to avoid moving backward while bringing a catch onto land until a later fix arrives.

Yellow Specialist Angler waders now match the pack

The Specialist Angler Pack now includes the yellow waders shown in its promotional images. The green waders, which were previously assigned to the pack by mistake, are available to every player. The patch also fixes Specialist Angler Waders and Boots clipping through other clothing, plus clipping between the Apex Predator Jacket and both the Bulletproof Vest and Armor Tactical Vest.

The update fixes male character arm deformation caused by any SCUM Event Shirt colour variant. Interface corrections include restoring camera control after closing the Set Name interaction, showing in-game names instead of Steam names in voice chat, and preventing squad emblems from disappearing after a squad name change.

What the hotfix means for players choosing a server

Players focused on aiming or fishing have the clearest reason to update: the former should be less disrupted by field-of-view stutters, while the latter must still avoid walking backward at the shoreline. The remaining fishing bug means the hotfix improves the minigame without making every fishing risk disappear.
