CityEd Reimagines London as a GTA Map Called Trafalgar
CityEd turns London into the fictional city of Trafalgar
YouTuber CityEd has designed a Grand Theft Auto-style map of London, presenting the English capital as if Rockstar Games had built a full game there. The project was reported on September 28, 2026, and applies Rockstar's approach to fictional cities, locations and landmarks.
CityEd renames London as Trafalgar, turning a familiar real-world city into a fictional GTA setting. Kings Cross becomes Dukes Cross, while Angel is reimagined as Saint, giving the map the compressed and referential naming style associated with Rockstar's open-world games.
Local history drives the renamed landmarks
The map does not rely on random substitutes for London's locations. CityEd used the history and cultural associations of real places to develop new names, then pushed those references toward the exaggerated style seen in Rockstar's previous maps. The creator describes the result as GTA-inspired cartography with satirical naming and oversized landmarks.
That process fills a gap left by Rockstar's earlier London project. The 1999 mission pack GTA: London kept the city’s real name instead of creating a new fictional identity for the setting, so CityEd had to build a naming system from the ground up.
The map includes a PDF and a 30-minute creation video
CityEd makes a PDF version of the map available through Patreon. A separate video running for roughly 30 minutes explains how the project was assembled and shows how real London history influenced the fictional locations.
The work is a fan-made design exercise rather than a confirmed Rockstar project. No announcement in the supplied material says that Rockstar Games is developing a London-based GTA game, and CityEd’s map remains an imagined version of that setting.
GTA 6 is less than two months away, according to the report
The same September 28 report says the next real Grand Theft Auto map is due in under two months. It also claims that the GTA 6 map could contain enough space for at least two GTA 5 maps, although internet investigators have not established whether a particular famous Florida location appears in the game.
What Trafalgar means for players
For players choosing a GTA-style world, CityEd’s map shows why fictional naming matters: Trafalgar can make London feel like a Rockstar setting without removing its recognizable local identity. The contrast is especially clear beside GTA: London, whose unchanged city name offered less room for that kind of invented geography.
